Janine Copeland is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and is a member of the Psychologists Association of Alberta, the Association of Family and Conciliation Court, the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, and the Canadian Addiction Counsellor Certification Federation. Janine has extensive experience working in addiction treatment centers, including the position of Clinical Director. Janine has volunteered as an Expert Witness for the University of Calgary Trial Advocacy Program. She is committed to regularly attending trainings and conferences, to enhance her skills and remain current.

Janine has over 15 years of clinical experience working with adolescents, adults, and families. She regularly works with Court-involved individuals, couples, and families of divorce and separation, providing various interventions (evaluative and therapeutic, including under Practice Note 7) as well as alternative dispute resolution (parenting coordination, mediation, and arbitration). She has been appointed by the Court as a Parenting Expert, and has provided expert evidence in both the Provincial Court and the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta.

Clinically, Janine specializes in treating complex issues, such as anxiety and depression, trauma, eating disorders, self-harm, suicidality, substance use and misuse, personality disorders, as well as relationship problems. She is an expert in working with children and adolescents struggling with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) and Conduct Disorder (CD), and provides parent consultation and support for these families.

She specializes in treating complex clinical issues, such as anxiety and depression, trauma, eating disorders, self-harm, suicidality, substance use and misuse, personality disorders, as well as relationship problems.

Janine has worked across multiple cultural settings, such as South East Asia, and enjoys working with diverse populations. She is passionate about assisting individuals and families reach their goals and lead a healthy life. She offers daytime, evening and weekend appointments. Janine is currently accepting new clients.
